This week I am on vacation in my favorite place: Ossipee NH. Every summer my dad's side of the family congregates on the lake at Wabankai Campground. I spent my summers growing up here with my cousins and over the years our clan has grown with new significant others, spouses, and even a new generation of tiny lake lovers. Chris is one of those many cousins who I grew up with here and his lovely girlfriend April (who at this point is honestly another cousin!) has been joining us here for the past several years. I asked Chris and April to do a couples session with me at the lake to practice for an engagement session I have coming up in a few weeks with some close family friends from Wabanaki (our camp family!). This was a great "trial run" and I am so pleased to give Chris and April these amazing photos from such a special place.
This morning I woke up with the urge to do a photoshoot. While thinking of people to ask to be models for me I realized that I've never really taken any pictures of myself and my boyfriend (aside from an assignment I threw together last minute in college for a class that made me so angry. It was actually a spite shoot the more I think of it...I'm surprised I even enjoy portrait photography after taking that class but anyway...) Tyler had a fancy work event which worked out perfectly for his outfit! He got ready with about 15 minutes to spare before he had to hit the road. Just enough time to have a little photo fun! I set up my tripod and connected my remote. I got a little adventurous and set up the self timer with the remote so that I would have time to get the remote out of the shot! In fact, our smiles in the last photo are because I chucked the remote across the yard right before the timer went off. This shoot was short and sweet and produced some nice results if I say so myself!
